Best Kitchen Curtains Design Ideas In 2017

Layered Effect

To create a tailored appearance in a simple, monochromatic kitchen, designer Teri Thomas chose a valance and Roman colour in precisely the exact same fabric. She used a cloth for both its topper and the colour from Paul and Galbraith, says builder Duane Johns of Advanced Renovations.

Exotic Element

"Fabric shades are like great artwork: They transform a space and its inhabitants," says Kara Roberts, Director of Merchandising for Smith & Noble, the manufacturer of those Moroccan-style shades shown here. Flat Roman shades lie flat when reduced, creating a very low profile look that works with a wide range of prints and fabrics and fold up in the top when lifted.

Sky Blue Shutters

Shutters painted in Benjamin Moore Aura in Old Blue Jeans attract a bright British nation note in a metropolitan kitchen.

French Accent

When they built an older family house with French architectural details, kitchen designers Marvin Daniel and Brian Pilgrim of KDW Home desired to give it an open and airy appearance that still sensed in keeping with the style of the house. Shades in a cloth added only the Old World accent the updated space required.

Light and Lively

Window treatments not just add softness and fashion, but also control light, protecting interior furnishings and materials from damaging UV rays. "Flat Roman cloth shades from Smith & Noble are available using a solitude lining that provides sun protection," says Kara Roberts, Director of Merchandising for the company. Shown here is a Flat Roman Fabric Shade in Samara/Stone with privacy lining.

Twice as Nice

For the ultimate in versatility, consider shades that may be raised and lowered from the top or bottom as needed. "These easy and sleek shades by Kirsch can fall down from the top or elevated up from the bottom to permit you to control the view or the sunlight as needed," states the retailer.

Coordinated Charm

Fabric-based window treatments are a great way to balance all of the hard surfaces in the kitchen whilst also adding pattern and color. This custom arched shade can raise and lower to privacy and control sunlight. "Whether up or down, the shade keeps the kitchen feeling sunny with splashes of yellow from the Thom Filicia fabric, Prospect at Shadow," states the manufacturer. Continue the look by using cloth in places like lampshades (see the shades in the wall sconces), barstools, chairs as well as Fido's bed.

Striped Shade

"I never met a stripe I did not enjoy," says designer Sheila Bridges, who picked Osborne & Little's Killarney, embroidered with white ovals, for the kitchen Roman colour.
